Author Guidelines

Manuscripts for the Journal of Decision Intelligence and Analytics (DINA) should be submitted online through the journal website at www.dina-journal.org. The submitting author, who is generally the corresponding author, is responsible for the manuscript throughout the submission and peer-review process. The submitting author must ensure that all eligible co-authors have been included in the author list and that all authors have read and approved the submitted version of the manuscript. To submit a manuscript, authors should register and log in to the journal's online submission system.

Accepted File Formats

Authors must use the Microsoft Word template or LaTeX template provided by the Journal of Decision Intelligence and Analytics (DINA) to prepare their manuscripts. Using the journal template will substantially shorten the time required for copy-editing and production of accepted manuscripts. The accepted file formats and submission requirements are as follows:

PDF: Manuscripts submitted as PDF files are accepted only for the initial review round.

Microsoft Word: Manuscripts prepared in Microsoft Word must be submitted as a single file. The Journal of Decision Intelligence and Analytics (DINA) Microsoft Word template must be used. Figures, schemes, and other graphical elements should be inserted into the main text after the paragraph in which they are first cited.

LaTeX: Manuscripts prepared in LaTeX should follow the Journal of Decision Intelligence and Analytics (DINA) LaTeX template and the corresponding template class file. Figures should preferably be provided in vector format (EPS preferred) or at a resolution of at least 300 dpi.

Supplementary files: Supplementary materials may be submitted in any appropriate format; however, authors are encouraged to use common and widely accessible file formats whenever possible.

Required Submission Files

Authors should ensure that all necessary files have been uploaded before completing the submission.

Manuscript:

• Include appropriate keywords;
• Include all figures with relevant captions;
• Include all tables with titles, descriptions, and footnotes, where applicable;
• Ensure that all figure and table citations in the text correspond correctly to the figures and tables provided;
• Clearly indicate any specific requirements concerning the use of color in figures.

Supplementary files:

Upload supplementary files where applicable.

Reproducing Published Material from Other Publishers

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any previously published material, including figures, schemes, tables, photographs, or extracts of text, that is not in the public domain or for which they do not hold the necessary rights. Permission should be obtained from the appropriate copyright holder, usually the publisher or rights holder of the original work.

Permission is required for:

• Authors' own works previously published by other publishers where the authors did not retain the necessary copyright or reuse rights;
• Substantial extracts from the works of others;
• Tables, graphs, charts, schemes, figures, and artwork reproduced without substantial modification;
• Photographs for which the authors do not hold the necessary rights.

Permission may not be required for:

• A newly created table based on data previously published elsewhere, provided that the original source is properly cited and the appropriate wording, such as "Data from..." or "Adapted from...", is used where applicable;
• Short quotations where their use is permitted under applicable copyright law, provided that the original source is properly cited;
• Graphs, charts, schemes, and artwork independently created by the authors based on underlying information or data, provided that the new material does not reproduce protected expressive elements of the original work and the original source is appropriately cited where required.

Obtaining Permission

To avoid unnecessary delays in the publication process, authors should obtain all required permissions as early as possible. If there is any uncertainty regarding copyright or reuse rights, authors should seek permission from the relevant rights holder before submitting the final version of the manuscript. The Journal of Decision Intelligence and Analytics (DINA) cannot publish third-party copyrighted material when the necessary permission or other lawful basis for reuse has not been established.

The copyright holder may specify the wording of the required acknowledgement. Where no specific wording is prescribed, an acknowledgement may follow a format such as: "Reproduced with permission from [author], [book/journal title], published by [publisher], [year]." The acknowledgement should be included in the caption of the relevant table, figure, scheme, or other reproduced material.
